PHOTŒIL
This book is a compilation of 'snapshots' made while wandering around in Ghent, a kind of a personal Ulysses, but expanded over many years instead of one day...
At the same time, it is gentle genuflection for the city that, so many years ago, adopted me unconditionally.
The title of this project refers to a quote by the Spanish Emperor Charles V (1519-1556) when bragging to the French king François I about his native city:
"Je mettrai [votre] Paris dans mon Gand", but this project is not a historical essay, not at all...
The book was presented on September the 2nd 2018 during the vernissage of the exhibition at the Lieve Lambrecht Galery in Merendree, where a nice Limited Edition
of this book, combined with a signed and numbered fine print, is offered for sale.
