PHOTŒIL

This book is a travelogue of an intriguing journey to meet a selection of driven and skilled craftspeople, both men and women, in search for imagery that would capture their craft and passion, a drive they all have in common.

As a photographer, I wanted to snap these hard working people and the feel of their workshop. Without any artificial light, on the contrary, often using ambient backlight. Because I didn't want to be an intruder, but an onlooker, at the most an observer. Engrossed by my craft, photography, with perhaps a hint of subjectivity, inspired by wonder and admiration.
