This is a very nice book telling the story of the superb artists originating from the Nord and the Pas-de-Calais in France, and the magnificent theaters  in which they performed. These theaters are real marvels of architecture, some of them built like Italian bonbonnières, and still well preserved. It is astonishing to see how active the cultural life evolved in the North of France and how these stages were and still are so well populated with great artists!
