AQUEDUCT

The site of the Barbegal aqueduct is situated on a  62 km long Roman aqueduct system that was built, during the first century, to supply drinking water from the mountain chain of the Alpilles to the city of Arles (France). The remains of this architectural wonder are very impressive. What you see here is only a small part of the Western aqueduct that ends in a rock cut channel.

Thanks to the early autumn light and the clouds blown by the Mistral wind, I could make some captivating images...
