This is a book about the typewriters collection of the famous Dutch novelist W.F. Hermans (01 September 1921 — 27 April 1995).

He considered the typewriter as "the sweetest machine ever invented". A rather obvious statement coming from a writer, I guess…

It's amazing to see how this technology has evolved, the creativity in finding solutions to improve the mechanics by the inventors! Some of these pure utilitarian machines are true jewels. I was astonished by their beauty.

Those who are interested in this small but very nice collection, can admire it in the 'Hermanskamer' of the LIMERICK bookshop in Ghent (Belgium).
